    Junior Software Development Manager

    Description

    • WhereIsMyTransport is looking for an energetic, process driven and people oriented Junior Software Development Manager. You will be working closely with our full-stack, front-end and mobile developers, and product managers in an agile environment running predominantly Scrum and Kanban development methodologies. You’ll assist various teams to improve their way of working and help them to adapt to an ever changing environment.
    • You will assist and work closely with our Software Delivery Manager to find creative solutions, alleviate risk and support high performing teams. During the first few months in your role you will be working across our Consumer Product and Data Product to assist in facilitating process improvements, team growth and team discussions.


    Key Responsibilities as a Software Delivery Manager
    Delivery

    Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles or impediments to increase effectiveness of the process and the team as a whole:

    • Work closely with our Tech Teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and facilitate decision making and support organizational product teams
    • Continuously look for ways to increase team productivity and for growth opportunities for teammates
    • Identify, investigate, and report on challenges, then implement solutions
    • Investigate process improvements with guidance from our Software Delivery Manager and implement/iterate on these
    • Increase team productivity through initiatives such as new team member onboarding and overall team learning programmes

    Agile Coaching

    • Guide and coach the Tech Team in agile methodologies
    • Contributes to the advancement and adaptation of Agile practices within the organization

    Facilitation

    • Facilitate sessions where needed - both Scrum-specific ceremonies and other types of sessions
    • Create a safe space for learning in the team; facilitate knowledge sharing
    • Research and introduce online tools to spearhead creative facilitation and adaptation to a remote first team environment

    Build Team Culture

    • Be an active supporter for your team and champion a positive team culture
    • Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it


    Key Responsibilities as a Line Manager

    • Grow and empower your direct reports through regular one on ones to set and track goals
    • Collaborate with your direct reports to plan their career development path
    • Conduct regular (quarterly/ biannual) performance reviews and manage performance generally
    • Champion fantastic onboarding experiences for new team members
    • Identify resourcing needs and propose new hires or training programmes to meet these needs

    About you
    You have:

    • Experience with Agile methodologies
    • Relevant work experience preferably influencing team processes
    • Excellent leadership abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Familiarity with software development
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams
    • Experience facilitating remote team sessions
