    Key Accounts Manager

    • An established company based in La Mercy is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to maintain, grow, and develop key customer relationships within the FMCG sector while supporting sales objectives and budget achievement.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Key Accounts:

    • To achieve and consistently grow allocated budgets per Key Account listing
    • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned Accounts
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies
    • Involvement in setting annual sales budgets for the business
    • Prepare, communicate and implement BTS pricing per Key Account
    • Maintenance of customer price list and listings including price increases, new listings, promotions etc
    • Deal structuring for customer seasonal buy-in during the year including product selection, advertised range and pricing per group
    • Prepare key analytical data for review at customer meetings
    • Attend quarterly customer meetings on allocated Accounts
    • Trading Term and Rebate Negotiation
    • Establish effective relationships with all departments in the business to address key business issues and opportunities
    • Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies

    New Product Development:

    • Direct involvement with the procurement and graphics team on new product development
    • Identifying opportunities in the market and bringing these to fruition

    New Business:

    • Perform research and identify new potential customers and market opportunities
    • Play an integral role in new business pitches and hold responsibility for the effective activation of new clients

    Project Management Co-Ordination:

    • Communication and co-ordination of projects between head office, Area Managers and sales team.

    Sales Support:

    • Provide supervision through field visits and observations
    • Attending key meetings with members of the sales rep team
    • Provide rep assistance by negotiating and closing agreements with large customers
    • Identifying key areas for improvement in the sales process
    • Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary
    • Evaluation of rep performance within key accounts and systems execution at store level
    • POS material allocations within chain customers and assist with internal sales calls
    • Organisation and attendance at Trade Shows

    Requirements:

    • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Commerce, or a related field.
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience managing National Key Accounts
    • Proven experience negotiating trade terms, rebates and adverstising
    • Experience working with major retail chains and buying groups
    • Experience in new product development and product launches
    • Experience managing cross-functional projects

    Key Competencies:

    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Commercial and financial acumen.
    • Strategic planning and execution.
    • Analytical and reporting capability.
    • Project management
