Lab Analyst - Randfontein at RCL Foods

We at RCL FOODS are in search for a Lab Analyst to join our Groceries Business Unit/Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the Shift Team Leader. RCL FOODS is looking for an incumbent:

• To ensure continuous testing for all RCL manufactured products so they meet the quality and safety requirements.
• That will also ensure that all testing benches are managed throughout the shifts and that all plants operational shifts testing requirements are all covered.

Minimum Requirements    

•  Completed qualification (N.Dip /BSC) in Food Technology/Biotechnology
• Basic knowledge of ISO 17025 and other food relevant standards (HACCP, GMP and FSSC 22000)  
• Working knowledge on MS Office

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze of incoming Raw materials
• Analysis of Intermediate products (Hourly products for plants online quality performance)
• Analysis of Final and shelf-life products according to product test checklist.
• Recording of results on Database.
• Communicate results to relevant HOD or Dept.
• Communicate Non-Conformance products result to Shift Team Leader or Technical signatory before sending out the non-conformance alert/email.
• Follow up on product place on hold (Ensure quantity and product details is communicated to the Lab Senior Analyst and Plant)
• Perform analysis accurately according to test methods as provided.
• Perform internal calibrations as per schedule.
• Collection of samples for analysis as required.
• Report of any issues or deviations to the Lab quality system to Technical Signatory and Shift Team Leader.
• Verification of product identification provided by factory.
• Working in manner to ensure safety to Co-workers and yourself.
• All equipment to be handled as per procedure.
• Report any failures of machinery to Lab shift team leader.
• Assist with sample preparation for external testing.
• Ensure sufficient retention samples are collected for storage for all products as stipulated and maintain the retention room as clean and orderly as possible.
• Assist with clearance of retention rooms as per schedule.
• Report any injuries to Lab shift team leader and or Senior Analyst.
• Provide mentorship to students during in-service training
