    Launch & Localisation Sup

    Job Description

    • Responsible for leading engineers in the Exterior and Structural Systems. Localisation of respective commodities and lead the launch of their respective systems during new model launches. Implement localisation and design cost reduction Team Value Management (TVM) ideas to meet or exceed the TVM cost reduction targets.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsibility for the localisation of components for new model launches post-engineering Final Data Judgment (FDJ) to post- Ok to Buy (OKTB).
    • Onsite launch team representing Lead Vehicle Engineering Activity (LVEA) for components and systems related to Body Exterior & Structural.
    • During Launch, lead the engineers to root cause quality or build issues and implement robust containment actions to ensure quality build phases, while working with the suppliers and LVEA engineers for permanent corrective actions.
    • Lead the team of engineers localizing components for new model launches within the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
    • Lead the team of engineers in TVM actions to project manage local suppliers to deliver local Body Exterior & Structural components on time and with quality while interfacing with the LVEA engineers to ensure all engineering standards and requirements are met.
    • Lead the implementation of design cost reduction actions.
    • While reporting to the PD Engineering Manager, the supervisor will work within a large cross-functional group including Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Planning & Logistics, Supplier Technical Assistance and Finance.
    • Provide training to new engineers on the various Ford PD systems and processes required to perform their functions.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum of 4 years experience in an automotive Product Development environment.
