Adult Education and Training (AET) Level 4 or equivalent (Grade 10). No experience required. Skills/Knowledge/Competence: Basic understanding of Policies (Batho Pele Principles, Patients Right Charter, Occupational Health and Safety, Six Priorities and National Core Standards). Ability to work under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skill.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate well with people at different levels. Ability to organize and plan. Ability to act with tact and discretion. Must be self-motivated. Ability to handle tasks of multidisciplinary nature and work independently and in a team. Knowledge of Labour Relations processes.

Knowledge of regulations and the legislative framework related to Laundry. Experience in a similar environment or health entity will be an added advantage.
Duties :
Collect and receive soiled linen from health institution in the laundry Department. sorting of soiled linen according to different categories, prepare soiled linen for washing.
Prepare items for ironing, pressing and folding then convey ironed linen to conduct quality check on finished linen. Sign the attendance register on arrival and departure wear uniform daily as protective measure, wear name tag or laundry identification daily, promote professionalism (time management adhere to conditions of employment requirement (code of conduct, attend to workshops and meeting.
Provide assistance to managers to the general laundry functions. Assisting with the rendering of an effective and efficient service within the laundry management services. Prepared to work overtime when needs arise, shift work is compulsory. Carrying out any lawful and reasonable instruction as instructed by the supervisors. Ensure a clean environment. Adhere to timelines. Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
Perform other duties as allocated by the supervisor. Be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs. Attend meetings and training as approved by supervisor. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, quarterly reviews and final assessment).
