Lead Accountant: Secunda at Tiger Brands

• You are responsible to report the financial performance of a selected business unit. You need to make sure that the integrity, accuracy and completeness of

financial records are maintained, in accordance with IFRS. You will be providing oversight of the activities and performance of the accountants in your team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• You are focused on ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the GL by processing monthly journals, preparing reconciliations, cost analysis, inventory reporting and fixed asset register maintenance.
• You will assist internal and external auditors with information/feedback requested and ensure consistent application of internal controls.
• Lead control and monitor the functions of all admin staff
• Analyse weekly financial accounts.
• Plan the cash flow of the bakery and monitor bank accounts.
• Review debtor’s ageing ledger weekly.
• Attend monthly stock counts and reconcile stock movements weekly.
• Compile annual budgets.
• Compile year-end accounts and schedules.
• Implement Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures and internal Controls aligned to the Bakeries BMR (Basic Minimum Requirements).

Key attributes and competencies

• Newly Qualified CA or Bcom Accounts degree with 2 to 3 years accounting and administrative in a FMCG environment
• Strong communication skills
• Business analytical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Oracle

Experience

• 2-3 years accounting experience in a lead or supervisory role within FMCG / Manufacturing or similar
