Lead and manage the annual budgeting and monthly financial forecasting processes.
Liaise with the business to understand root causes of financial results, investigation of budget variances and formulation of recovery plans.
Understanding cost drivers, establishing cost structures, productivity optimization and capital efficiency while closely monitoring cash flow and taking relevant actions to improve net working capital.
Analyze prices and margins for the different product/customer groups and business units to establish an optimal product mix that maximizes profitability and long-term business sustainability.
Review inventory accounting in coordination with the Operations team and the Inventory COE.
Manage cashflow and forex hedging process together with Corporate Treasury.
Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Ensuring timely and efficient communication with the business, the accounting team, and other stakeholders to identify, discuss and fix issues in the accounting process/records including process improvements.
Manage the month-end close process and reviewing country P&L and Balance Sheet.
Provide analytical support to the central FP&A team to gain a better understanding of market trends, sales channel performance and cost trends.
Interpret operating results and communicate opportunities for improvement to functional leads.
Establish, implement, and monitor appropriate internal controls to comply with all relevant legislation, accounting standards, and company policies.
Lead and represent Stryker in all internal and external audits and statutory filings, including regulatory reporting requirements.
Manage operating costs (OPEX).
Performing investment appraisals where required.
Manage and perform treasury activities.
Work closely with the finance shared service center.
Be a key user of the financial accounting and reporting systems.
What you need:
Chartered Accountant CA(SA) and or CIMA.
3+ years related experience preferably in a MedTech multinational.
Solid accounting knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS.
Experienced in preparing annual financial statements, VAT, and tax computations.
Experience in JD Edwards and Hyperion (HFM).
Working experience in FP&A and Power BI an added advantage.
Working knowledge of advanced excel.
Excellent analytical skills.
Ability to build strong working relationships.
A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and verbal communication skill.
Strong understanding of regulatory reporting and working knowledge of local legislation: Tax laws, Companies Act, CIPC etc.
