Qualifications & Expertise

• National Diploma in Quantity Surveying & Building Management
• Cost Engineering Certification
• PMP (Project Management Professional) with PMI (Project Management Institute) or equivalent -advantageous

Job Experience:

• Minimum 5 years - Project Management & Quantity Surveying experience
• At least 5 years in Contracts Administration Role. 
• Experience working with SAP, Microsoft Projects, or other Project Management software advantageous. 
• Knowledge of NEC & Fidic Contract Conditions.  

Key Performance Areas:

• Project Costing 
• Estimate Capex project cost,  
• Align project cost forecasts and identify cost risks.  
• Ensure costs reflect scope & verify contractor rates with industry established norms. 
• Work cross-functionally between all plants, and across all engineering disciplines (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, Process). 
• Evaluate site instructions, claims, tariff increases and volume increases. 
• Pro-actively drive cost reductions. 

Contract Management  

• Identify best strategy project to minimize cost and maximize productivity (within the constraints of safety, environment, cost, duration, scope, quality, risks, and available resources) 
• Ensure that the best contractors are selected in conjunction with Project Managers, Senior & Plant Engineers and in line with procurement practice. 
• Ensure alignment of contractor rates between Maintenance, Annual Shut, Capex and industry norms 

Verification of Invoices 

• Ensure payment is aligned to actual work done when using cost re-measurable contracts. 
• Engage with supplier to obtain all back up data required to assess work claims. 

Lead and develop a team  

• Management of individual personal development plan. 
• Manage the QS team KPI’s. 
• Input to training matrix for the department.
