Fabricate and assemble composite components based on engineering drawings and specifications;
Prepare moulds and lay up composite materials according to engineering and manufacturing guidelines;
Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in the composite manufacturing process, including CNC machines, laminating tools, and curing ovens;
Perform quality inspections on completed work, ensuring that all components meet technical specifications and safety standards;
Repair and refurbish existing composite parts, utilizing appropriate techniques and materials;
Collaborate with engineers and designers to provide input on materials and production methods;
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices;
Document work processes, including materials used, labour time, and any deviations from specifications;
Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives as needed;
Health and safety requirements must always be followed to ensure personal safety, the safety of others, and to prevent fires, accidents, and incidents.
Requirements
Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
Licensed AME Cat B rating (Essential);
Certification related to composites (Advantageous);
Minimum of 12 years aviation experience or 5 years AME holder (Essential);
Proven experience in composite fabrication and repair, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or marine industries;
Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays;
Must be available and willing to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally;
Valid South-African passport holder;
Sound understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation;
Understanding of SACAR's as applicable to maintenance;
Maintain a thorough understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards;
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications;
Knowledge of tools and equipment relevant to composites manufacturing;
Proficient in working with fiberglass, carbon fibre, and other composite materials, and will have a strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes;
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint).12
