    Learning and Development Designer

    Job Purpose

    As part of the Learning & Development team, this role will be dedicated to creating engaging learning programs/content and support the MAH learning strategy. This role requires very strong learning theory and instructional design knowledge and experience.

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Conduct a thorough design analysis to gather required information. E.g. target audience, content covered, file size limit, screen resolution, deployment devices
    • Design and develop screen and content graphics to shape solutions aligned with expectations
    • Follow brand guidelines as prescribed
    • Implement stakeholder feedback and amendments in designs
    • The design approach is applied consistently
    • Color, font and spacing is used to enhance the user’s experience and facilitate learning
    • Should have a basic understanding of UX/UI design. For example:

                - Navigation is intuitive

                - Learners can easily identify where they are in a course

                - Menu screen and menu icons are clearly visible

    • The chosen graphics facilitate the learning experience and fit the learning programme (know your audience and the message you need to convey)
    • Interactivity is used to enhance the experience
    • The developed solution is 100% functional, without errors or dead-ends
    • Implement stakeholder feedback and amendments on functionality, in the developed solution
    • The developed solution is published in the required format. E.g. SCORM 1.2
    • Liaise with product owners, in market countries, clients, imagery companies, agencies, production, facility, etc to deliver as per scope.
    • Execute last minute demands.
    • Meet deadlines & briefs.
    • Work with team members to achieve collective goals; seek collaboration and understand the viewpoints and perceptions of others in the group; be sensitive to team dynamics and build trust and confidence in others.
    • Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in a graphic design related discipline, or proof of equivalent industry experience

    Work Experience

    • Extensive experience in a related role, preferably in a corporate environment
    • Extensive experience working in a commercial e-learning development environment, preferably related to on-line and blended learning
    • Highly proficient in design packages (specifically Adobe Creative Cloud –Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge etc.)
    • Working knowledge of design for responsive solutions
    • Extensive experience of developing graphical design concepts for digital outputs (e.g. eLearning, web-based, mobile, online documentation)
    • Detailed knowledge of relevant trends, capabilities and techniques in the field of graphic design
    • Interaction Design and UX/UI
    • Understanding of Content Deployment platforms
    • Design Thinking approach
