Lecturer: Post Graduate Diploma Health Science Dynamics and health Science Research PND 1/2 REFS/019148 at Gauteng Provincial Government

Requirements :

• A Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate.
• A Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of government notice R.425 or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/ Accoucheur. (i.e., Diploma/ Degree in Nursing).
• A Degree in Education and Administration. Post Basic Diploma Qualification (R.212 or R48) registered with SANC.
• Master’s degree in nursing is compulsory. Clinical masters will be an added advantage. Proof of current registration with SANC.
• PND1 minimum of 4 years appropriate/ recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/ Accoucheur or PND2 minimum of 14 years of appropriate/ recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/ Accoucheur, at least 10 years of the period must be appropriate experience in Nursing Education.
• Must have an Assessor and Moderator certificates.
• Good communication, supervisory, report writing and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Nursing Dynamics/ Nursing Research will be an added advantage. Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
• Computer literacy/ certificate (MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• A valid driver’s license.

Duties :

• Facilitate the provision of Education and Training of specialist student nurses in both clinical and theory.
• Guide and support student nurses effectively, Exercise control over specialist student nurses.
• Implement assessment strategies to determine students’ competency.
• Support vision and mission of the college through participation in meetings, committees, and college activities.
• Promote the image of the college. Implement assessment strategies to determine students’ competency. P
• articipate in Scholarly Research and Community Engagement activities at the college.
• Develop, review, and evaluate curricula. Exercise control over specialist student nurses.
• Participate in curriculum development, review, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
