Job Purpose

• Lecturing in the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years relevant teaching experience in higher education or 2 years industrial experience in the Civil Engineering Industry.
• Must be registered be registered with ECSA Professional Body or must be willing to register within 12 months of employment.

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Lecturing Civil Engineering subjects in the Civil Engineering Programme
• Develop innovative teaching and learning materials
• Contribute to curriculum and programme development
• Augment departmental research
• Promote community participation, linkages, outreach and industry liaison
• Supervise and mentor students
• Assessment and academic development
• Perform academic administrative duties
• Assist with departmental administration
• Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department.
• Ensure good quality assurance practice.
