Master’s Degree (within the discipline of apparel or related areas). Undergraduate studies can include apparel technology subjects.
Sound knowledge of the technical aspects of apparel including patternmaking, construction, quality, work-study, production methods, and raw materials.
A minimum of 2 years relevant teaching/ relevant apparel industry experience – e.g. in technology, manufacturing processes and/or business. (Teaching or training experience in relevant, Higher Education, industry or training institutions).
Additional Recommendations
Demonstrate a solid portfolio of work and traceable references.
Prior teaching experience at Higher Education level will be highly advantageous.
Practical industry or retail experience in clothing related areas.
Strong team player, high level of initiative, highly motivated, ability to network.
Summary of Duties:
Lecture in apparel product and process related subjects or where required as deemed necessary by the Head of Department.
Preparation and delivery of lectures and practicals, and assessment of student work.
Assist in the curriculum development of appropriate course material.
Perform administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Participate in departmental life including community engagement and research.
