    Lecturer – Ref: NM07

    FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES 
    DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES 
    LECTURER – Ref: NM07 

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Lecture students at undergraduate level. 
    • Initiate and be involved in community engagement. 
    • Curriculum and programme development. 
    • Setting and assessment of exam papers and assessing portfolio of evidence. 
    • Supervise students at undergraduate levels and undertake research. 
    • Involvement in departmental research and publications. 
    • Assist with administrative duties in the department. 
    • Attendance of developmental workshops for teaching and learning. 
    • Participate in tutoring and mentoring of students. 
    • Engagement with external stakeholders. 
    • Initiate and participate in quality assurance responsibilities. 

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Master’s degree in Mathematics / Applied Mathematics. 
    • At least three years teaching experience. 

    Recommendations:

    • Registered for a PhD in Mathematics. 

    Competencies:

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in discharging duties. 
    • Computer literacy. 
    • Good verbal and communication skills.
