    Legal and Compliance Officer - Rola Holdings Somerset West

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Law, or related field; B.Com LLB preferred.
    • Admitted Attorney to Law (preferred)
    • Minimum of 2 years post article experience
    • Proven experience  working in a legal and compliance role (motor industry advantageous)
    • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and regulations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the business
    • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Facilitate, and provide legal advice and support to management and employees on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of compliance vulnerability and develop corrective action plans.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
    • Monitor and analyse changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company's operations and update internal policies accordingly.
    • Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed and manage relationships with regulatory authorities.
    • Conduct training sessions to educate employees on compliance policies and procedures.
    • Handle all legal matters and disputes that may arise for and on behalf of the company
    • Manage BBBEE Compliance & audit requirements, in conjunction with the verification agents
