Legal Manager - Centurion at WeBuyCars

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Provide accurate and timely legal advice on all legal matters affecting the business; Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions; Assess legal and reputational risk
• Negotiate, draft and review a variety of commercial contracts
• Compile a database on legal templates and manage the updating of templates; Implement a contract management Programme
• Supervise all MIOSA complaints, compile statistics, draft responses to MIOSA complaints; Proactively engage the relevant case managers at MIOSA, the NCC, the CCMA and MIBCO
• Supervise letters of demand and responses thereto, checking pleadings, monitor legal spend on external counsel
• Endeavour to secure the release of impounded vehicles
• Keep abreast of all relevant legislation relating to the automotive and related industry,
• Support the FIC compliance team; Formulate and implement policy
• Assist with the formulation of charges in disciplinary matters; Provide training to internal chairpersons of disciplinary hearings; Attend conciliation, con-arb and arbitration hearings at MIBCO or the CCMA
• Assist with company secretarial work
• Assist with board reporting and presentations

Requirements:

• Recognised law qualification
• Admitted Attorney
• 5 years PQE (post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in-house legal experience)
