A leading global private equity and investment advisory firm is looking for a Legal Operations Analyst to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys working with data-driven insights, and has an interest in advancing legal technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the legal department and legal operations team in day-to-day activities.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, IT, Legal) and external partners/law firms to streamline processes and ensure alignment.
Manage reporting, dashboards, and data analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel or similar platforms.
Assist with finance and accounting payment processes, including law firm billing practices.
Contribute to change management initiatives and technology implementation projects.
Maintain high organizational standards while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience supporting a legal department or legal operations team, with knowledge of law firm operations and billing practices.
Familiarity with finance and accounting payment processes.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and external partners.
Proficiency in reporting, dashboards, and data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to e-billing platforms such as Brightflag, Legal Tracker, or CounselLink.
Experience with change management and technology implementation projects.
Understanding of commercial models and alternative fee agreements used by law firms.
Interest in legal technology, analytics, or legal operations.
