• To ensure efficient , accurate and safe setup and operation of filing lines, labeling machines and other equipment in accordance with production schedules, quality standards and safety requirements while maintaining machine performance and minimizing downtime.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up production lines and machinery according to production schedules and product specifications.
• Change over tooling, dies, moulds, or machine settings for different production runs.
• Perform machine start-up, testing, and calibration before production begins.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs where applicable.
• Liaise with maintenance technicians for major equipment breakdowns.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and efficiency goals are achieved.
• Complete production and machine setup documentation accurately.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, defects, or maintenance requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Train and support machine operators on correct machine operation where required.
• Liaise daily with the Production Team Leader production delays /Supervisor to confirm upcoming batches and production priorities
• Prepare in advance for the next scheduled batch change over
• Verify availability of all required components, packaging materials , labels, caps and raw material prior to setup
• Coordinate with stores and maintenance to prevent productions delays
• Ensure correct documentation ,batch , sheet and specifications are available before setup
• Perform mere setup
• Correct fill volume
• Require run rate (Speed)
• Correct change parts and tooling
• Ensure accurate line changeovers to minimize efficiency targets
• Perform mechanical adjustment to ensure proper alignment and functionality
• Conduct and record initial test runs
• No contamination or cross -mixing
• Product integrity

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 3-4 years working as a Line Setter within the manufacturing industry.
• Good communication skills.
• Matric certificate.
