Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Matric certificate as well as an applicable qualification in childcare or qualification in ECD/Foundation phase teaching;
• Clear criminal record.

• Have a good command of the English Language (spoken and written);
• Must have a warm and nurturing personality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that children are safe, happy, and looked after both physically and emotionally
• Incident report and documentation written up daily should an incident occur
• First aid to be administered should an injury occur
• Implementing the daily programme of activities in conjunction with the Teacher/Playschool Vice-Principal
• Engagement with the children on their age level
• Monitoring and supervising the children in the classroom and on the playground
• Being responsible for the children’s belongings at all times and ensuring bags are packed correctly at the end of the day
• Assisting children with all toileting needs, serving of snacks/lunch
• Cleaning and sanitising of toys regularly
• Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the storeroom and its contents
