Logistics Manager (Cold Meats) - Salt River at Impact

About the Role

• We are seeking a Logistics Manager with a focus on cold meats to effectively oversee the supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics strategies that ensure the efficient transportation and storage of temperature-sensitive products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the storage and distribution of cold meat products.
• Manage and oversee daily logistics operations, including inventory control, warehousing, and transportation management.
• Collaborate with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams to ensure a streamlined supply chain process.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics efficiency and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards throughout the logistics process.
• Coordinate with the quality assurance team to conduct regular audits of supply chain practices and procedures.
• Lead and mentor logistics staff to enhance team performance and ensure best practices are followed.
• Prepare and manage logistics budgets while seeking cost-effective solutions for project execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in the food industry with a focus on temperature-sensitive products.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices, including inventory management and distribution strategies.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Effective leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and develop actionable solutions.
• Proficiency in logistics software and systems, with a working knowledge of warehouse management and inventory tracking tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Familiarity with cold chain logistics and best practices in the meat industry.
• Experience in data analysis and familiarity with data visualisation tools.
