Join Lactalis at our Ice Cream Plant in Cape Town as a Machine Attendant, responsible for Identifying machine and packaging related non-conformance, troubleshooting breakdowns, monitoring of the production process and general housekeeping on and around the machine. Must have at least 2 years experiences within a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
Grade 10 or equivalent.
At least 4 years experiences within a ice cream manufacturing environment.
Quality driven individual.
Willingness to do repetitive work.
Punctuality and attendance reliability is essential.
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, public holidays if and when required, shifts.
Ability to work in a team as well as independent.
Be accurate and pay attention to detail.
Be able to prioritize workloads and work under pressure.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ordering of materials.
Quality checks to be done on materials.
Pre start-up checks and maintaining of the necessary equipment to be done.
Adhere to all safety (SHER) and FSSC2200 requirements in the area.
Ensure that all safety checks are adhered to and in place.
Fill in all relevant documentation daily.
Traceability codes should be recorded and documented to assist with problem solving.
Make sure that the highest product quality is achieved and waste kept at a minimum.
Ensure that accurate stock-taking is recorded on the relevant control document.
Ensure that area are neat and tidy end of shift.
Ad-hoc duties:
Daily checks and records to be updated and signed off.
Familiar with offloading procedure of milk receiving and documentation.
Ordering of materials required for the daily mixing production.
Make-up of batches according to the recipes sheets per product required.
Assemble of equipment in the blending room.
Blending of materials in the blending room.
Assist with the soft serve process and requirements when needed.
Assist Bulk operators when required and needed.
Operating and problem solving of fruit feeder.
Understanding the metal detector requirements and processes.
Be knowledgeable of date-coder and box-coder.
Familiar with the flavour room process with making up of colours and batches.
Adhere to cleaning schedules and procedures (Monthly Deep Clean)
