THE JOB AT A GLANCE

• This role is for an experienced artisan who has N6, or NQF 6 Diploma (S4) or preferably NQF 7 Degree or Advanced Diploma. The Maintenance Coordinator reports to Manufacturing Manager or Plant Manager and coordinates and supervises all maintenance activities within a manufacturing unit.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Primary Purpose

• Coordinate and supervise the maintenance activities through the effective management of people, resources and systems. The Maintenance Coordinator ensures overall equipment availability, reliability, life span and efficiency within budget, according to health, safety, environmental standards, productivity, customer and operational

Skill Level

• This role includes specialized tasks that involve coordinating a team of artisans on specific complex engineering tasks on equipment and/or Machinery.
• This Coordinator is highly skilled, coordinating tasks that require them to make complex decisions and judgements as well as possess leadership skills to manage a team of Artisans
• More complex decisions are escalated to the Plant Manager / Engineering Manager/ Maintenance Manager

• Maintain a safe, healthy maintenance environment according to organisation and regulatory requirements

Asset Care

• Maintain plant and equipment availability

Leadership

• Lead a team of artisans to execute the maintenance plan

Customer Service

• Communicating with others and delivering Customer Service

Critical Spares

• Availability of Critical Spares for operational maintenance according to inspection and condition monitoring

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum N6 Diploma, NQF 6 Diploma, or preferably NQF 7 Degree or Advanced Diploma in Engineering

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3 years as a specialist artisan or recruited as Engineering graduate and completed a graduate development programme with practical workshop experience
