We’re looking for an experienced and driven Maintenance Engineer to deliver expert, cost-effective engineering support and maintenance services that ensure maximum plant availability — all within a safe, compliant, and high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
SHEQ Management: Ensure compliance with the OHS Act and all SHEQ standards. Promote a safety-first culture through training, inspections, and adherence to ISO requirements.
Plant & Equipment Reliability: Lead preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, reduce downtime, and drive root cause analyses for sustainable performance improvements.
Maintenance Planning & Execution: Oversee long- and short-term maintenance planning, manage shutdowns, allocate resources, and ensure tasks are completed safely and effectively.
Project & Contractor Management: Manage capital and renewal projects, define scope of work, assess contractors, and ensure delivery within timelines and budget.
Budget & Cost Control: Contribute to and manage budgets, control expenditure, identify cost-saving initiatives, and ensure financial accountability across maintenance activities.
Data & Systems Reporting: Utilize SAP PM and maintenance dashboards to monitor equipment performance, ensure data accuracy, and provide regular reports to engineering leadership.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, manage performance, support succession planning, and promote technical growth and capability building.
Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate across departments, support Lean and ESD initiatives, and lead continuous improvement in equipment reliability and engineering practices.
Minimum Requirements
BSc, BEng, BTech, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
5–10 years of engineering experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment
Experience in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams
Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) will be an added advantage
MDP or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage
