    Maintenance Manager - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the maintenance department and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshoot machinery issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly.
    • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
    • Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance and repair purposes.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Collaborate with procurement to source spare parts and equipment from reliable suppliers while managing costs effectively.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Evaluate and implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and reliability.

    Inherent Requirements    

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will be considered.
    • Proven experience (X years) in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in injection moulding or plastics manufacturing.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
    • Proficiency in implementing preventive maintenance programs and using maintenance management software.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
    • Good understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
