Maintenance Manager at KWV

Purpose:

To support the Packaging team with regard best operating and preventative maintenance practices (Operating, change-overs, cleaning and maintenance) of Packaging Hall machines, processes and equipment.

Job Summary:

• Efficiently manage maintenance spend vs budget
• Oversee the planning of all repair and installation activities
• To ensure planned preventative maintenance schedules performed and up to date
• To Identify and manage trends and ensuring proper root cause are addressed to improve production efficiencies
• Managing subordinates in such, a way that they are enabled to excel
• Ensure tasks and projects are completed within agreed time frame
• Implement good housekeeping, hygiene and ensure safety practices are adhered to
• Consistently comply with workplace standards and practices with assistance of the SHEQ Officer
• Ensuring products (Wine & Spirits) are kept within required standards during packaging operation

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Megatronics or Mechanical
• Relevant technical experience in terms of CIP and Filler operation would be an advantage
• Min of 5-7 years practical experience
• Min 5 years people management experience
• Must be able to work overtime and over weekends when operationally required

Knowledge required:

• Knowledge and understanding of HACCP/Food safety in a production environment
• Good understanding of Preventative/Autonomous Maintenance principals and establishing work instructions for Packaging machines and equipment
• Understanding Quality in a production environment
• Basic knowledge of CIP systems and standards
• Knowledge of glass bottle and BIB Packaging machines

Skills Required:

• Basic computer, numerical and technical skills
• Technical ability to do first line maintenance and basic problem solving
• Good communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
• Able to work individually and in a team
• Root cause analysis
• High attention to detail
• Target driven attitude
