Maintenance Utilities Manager at Lactalis South Africa

Job Description    

• Join Lactalis at our plant in Eastern Cape Port Elizabeth Plant and take on the challenge of managing our Technical department. Successful candidates need to have at least 5 years' relevant experience within maintenance environment, must be able to demonstrate knowledge in PLC, SCADA, supplier and strong people management experience, be fluent in English and be computer literate

Required Skills    

• Mechanical/electrical or industrial Engineering degree or N6/T4
• At least 5 years post graduate or post qualification job experience in a maintenance environment
• At least 5 year’s experiences in a maintenance management environment
• At least 3 year’s experiences in a FMCG environment
• Experience in PLC & SCADA will be advantageous
• Good planning and organizing skills is essential
• Good communication skills
• Willing to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays
• Valid code EB driver’s license 
• Computer literate with sound knowledge of MS Office and Control Instruments 
• Sound knowledge of Coal / HFO boilers, Air compressors, NH3 refrigeration, dairy processing and filling & packaging machinery.
• Water treatment experience.
• Reverse osmosis water treatment plants

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Day to day job planning and scheduling
• Managed and controlled budgets of the department
• Support and actively drive overall cost of manufacturing reduction
• Help build strong sustainable, preventative and breakdown maintenance competence. 
• Responsible for all maintenance of machines to ISO and HACCP standards
• Update all logbooks and keep records on all plant equipment
• Schedule planning of the Plant equipment and update according to the Pragma system
• Uphold safety procedures
• Maintain section targets and improve targets of Plant KPA
• Control of spares availability, budget etc
• Responsible for Project installation work
• Responsible for all Technical Documentation and drawings of the plant
• Manage and control time and attendance of staff reporting to you
• Manage the development of high-performance teams in utilities, processing, and packaging areas.
