Maintenance Workers at Christel House South Africa

About the position: 
We are in search of   TWO Maintenance Workerswho will be responsible for maintaining our groundsand  practice  fields  in  an  excellent  condition.  
Their  responsibilities will include  but  will not  be  limited  to   mowing  andwatering  the  lawn,  fertilizing  and  attending  to   the  trees  and  plants  on  the  premises.  
Further  responsibilities includescleaning and painting as well as keeping our facilities and surrounding areas free from trash, litter, debris and weeds. 

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the candidate will be responsible for the   following:

• Ensure all    daily tasks in terms of   maintenance schedule is performed timeously and accurately, accordingto  the agreed standard,
• Able to  operate basic hand tools, electrical tools and other equipment related to  the function,
• Practice applicable safety guidelines and procedures while performing their job,
• Perform minor repairs/fixes such as repairing broken locks, etc
• Stay updated with the latest strategies, incorporating innovative approaches to  grounds maintenance

The candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

• Matric Certificate,
• Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance work and /or gardening,
• Demonstrate ability to operate hand and electric tools and other relevant equipment,
• Conduct basic audits, tool inspections, maintain stock levels and report all shortages to Supervisor,
• Have a keen eye for detail and a reliable worker, motivated by pride in the final product,
• Hard worker, possessing the manual dexterity and physical stamina,
• Clear criminal record,
• Driver's license will be advantageous, and 
• Contactable references
