    Manager, Accountants Solutions

    To design and develop a strategy that attracts and onboards mainly new to bank entrepreneurs supported by an accountant, by offering a full set of unique banking facilities / solutions.

    Key Accountabilities

    Edge strategy formulation and implementation and framework

    • Formulates the Edge Strategy in conjunction with the broader RBB strategy.
    • Ensures that the Edge strategy is implemented and defines the operational framework (e.g., standards, processes, system requirements, roll-out, etc.).
    • Ensures that the Edge strategy is integrated as part of the broader customer solutions.
    • Partners with relevant stakeholder (e.g., RBB, Product, IT, Ops Risk, Credit, etc.) to scope, estimate and define the functional deliverables and functional support requirements for the solution implementation.
    • Oversees the delivery of business solution design and ensure that the strategic intent of the business requirements are encompassed in the solutions defined.
    • Oversees the design and build of the technical solutions in order to ensure that the solution delivers in line with the strategy.
    • Brokers relationships between external service providers (i.e. Strategic Vendors, IT Solution Architecture, Technical Delivery Managers, Enterprise Design, Program Management of the various work streams and support Build, Testing, and Production).
    • Ensures the business case objectives are delivered in the business release – approves all content prior to go-live.

    Accountant and entrepreneur value proposition

    • Builds relationships with professional accountant institutions, firms, etc. in order to promote and market the Edge solutions to accountants (that will enable the accountants to better serve their customers).
    • Provides training and upskilling to the accountants on the solution and uses their feedback to enhance the proposition – in order to attract the accountant’s clientele and drive profitability.
    • Manages the execution of the plan according to relevant geographies.
    • Effectively liaises and networks with customers and Client Management Leadership teams to identify and craft solutions that are specific to their province / regions.
    • Drives onboarding of new to bank customer prior to hand-over to Relationship Manager / Account Executive – this includes initial approval of relevant loans and facilities prior to expanding the full spectrum of bank solutions for the customer.
    • Edge profitability
    • Ensures that appropriate deals for accountants and customers that drive Edge strategy and profitability are in line with the bank’s credit and risk and compliance requirements.
    • Represents Edge at appropriate forums (e.g., Credit, Finance, etc.) and presents relevant business cases for approval where required.
    • Ensures that Edge profitability is in line with broader PBB requirements (credit performance and New to bank requirements).

    Operational effectiveness

    • Ensures the successful delivery of the Edge solution to the market through effective operational functioning (e.g., processes, systems, people, etc.).   Ensures that the relevant SLAs are set up in order to drive operational delivery (through OSS).
    • Defines the operational requirements per province in order to deliver on the Edge objectives.
    • Ensures that the necessary reporting is provided as input into broader Business Enablement reporting.

    Risk and Compliance

    • Ensures that all business solutions adhere to risk and compliance requirements.
    • Ensures that the deals are structured according to the Edge value proposition and delivers value to the bank.

    People Management

    • Manages a team to ensure effective delivery of objectives for the area.
    • Develops a high performing team by embedding the bank's performance process, regular performance feedback and coaching. Addresses poor performance.
    • Motivates team members and ensures that they receive recognition for work well done.
    • Determines development needs of the team and ensures that development opportunities (training, rotation, on-the-job learning) are budgeted for and executed.
    • Maintains a succession plan for the team by reviewing the skills of the team at least twice a year and has career conversations with them.
    • Interviews and recruits new members of the team, including determining the appropriate salary with input from the Human Capital Business Partner.
    • Creates workforce plans for the area to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met. Such plans should be revisited at least twice a year.
    • Uses workforce plans to obtain headcount approvals on an annual basis and as input into the financial budgeting cycles.
    • Creates quarterly leave plans to ensure adequate coverage. Approves leave requests and leave sell requests.
    • When required, initiates disciplinary processes for team members. Resolves grievances raised by team members, escalating only if unresolved.

    Measures

    • Incremental profit contribution to PBB
    • Credit performance of lending portfolio
    • Achievement of financial objectives (e.g., number of accounts opened, new to bank customers, etc.)
    • Number of MOU’s signed with accountants
    • Successful operational functioning (e.g., deals processed within SLA, etc.)
    • Accountant and entrepreneur feedback

    Qualification and Experience

    • Commerce Degree preferred
    • Years of experience: 7-10 years
    • Experience in developing entrepreneurial solutions. Experience in setting up deals and its associated processing. Good understanding
