Manager ERP - South32,Johannesburg at South32

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The Manager ERP role will lead people, processes and technology related to the global SAP ERP landscape at South32.  This role encompasses responsibility for:

• business-as-usual operations including system performance/reliability, Service Level Agreement (SLA) / Audit compliance and cost management / optimisation.
• continuous improvement including both process and technology optimisation.
• project delivery relating to both planned and break-in business demand.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will hold Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology or related field preferred, with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience;
• Experience of audit compliance and budget management;
• Experience with working alongside architects understanding architecture patterns, security assessments, access management for platforms;
• Ability to apply in-depth knowledge, skills and judgement by assessing and translating information technology into responsive and effective planning solutions;
• Technical skills and knowledge of ERP management and practices;
• Sound knowledge of contract and vendor management processes and practices;
• Demonstrated understanding of the technical systems and how to manage the systems that are required for ERP services;
• Demonstrable experience in leading people and managing landscapes a global scale.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure the strategic decisions of ERP are in alignment with the Digital Technology and South32 Strategies;
• Contribute to the overall Digital Technology plan and support activities to enable the ERP Strategy vision across South32;
• Assist in defining and maintaining the ERP delivery model, in collaboration with Digital Technology sub-functions and the broader South32 stakeholders;
• Lead the development of the ERP Roadmap and ensure its integration with the overall Technology Strategy and Digital Technology Journey Map;
• Assist with reviewing and establishing an ERP sourcing model required to transition and optimise the South32 team and capabilities;
• Establish, govern and optimise the ERP practices and processes in alignment with the service management suppliers, broader Platform teams and other Technology Managers;
• Ensure interactions for both producers of technology services and the consumers of technology are clearly articulated and shared across Technology and the broader South32 organisation;
• Clearly articulate the core interactions of the ERP Team and how stakeholders can engage with the services of the Team to achieve their desired goals and outcomes – this includes internal and external stakeholders;
• Ensure service level requirements of the ERP Team are clearly articulated, monitored and communicated;
• Ensure ongoing feedback loops with all relevant stakeholders and drive alignment regarding stakeholder requirements, expectations and satisfaction;
• Oversee the day-to-day interactions and be the point of escalation for the ERP vendors and contractors, with further escalation to Group Manager ERP as required;
• Review and approve financial system master data changes for African entities;
• Build and continually improve the ERP team, ensuring the right level of capabilities, knowledge and skills to support the ERP and Technology strategies as well as the requirements of the operations and supporting functions within South32;
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement to ensure ongoing enhancement and optimisation of ERP capabilities and technical skill.
