    Manager ICT

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience ·

    • Bachelor's degree I National Diploma in Computer Sciences I Information Technology (IT} obtained from a recognized tertiary institution or relevant qualification.
    • Five (5) years proven experience in IT of which two (2) years must be at local government and at a supervisory level. Valid motor vehicle driver's licence. Ability to communicate in both lsiZulu and English is essential. CPMD/MFMP certificate as per National Treasury Regulation or studying towards the qualification will be an added advantage.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Keeping abreast with technological developments in the IT and Communications environment with specific emphasis on improving networking, accessibility and performance of systems, applications, and tools. Plans, manages, organizes and controls the key performance areas of the Information Communication Technology Services function through the implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls guiding critical intervention, applications and outcomes. Providing advice and support with respect to specific functional requirements and controlling the operational dimensions related to information and knowledge management systems, hardware and software applications, customer services applications, financial management systems, records archiving, communicating infrastructure and facilities.
    • Ensuring that each department priorities are adequately addressed, attended to and key functional areas are aligned towards sustaining and improving the efficiencies of Information Technology Services. Compile strategy and policy with regards to the ICT function as a whole in accordance with the broader national and provincial ICT policy guidelines and objectives. Developing action plans to ensure achievement of unit's vision with inputs from outsourced partner. Ensuring that monitoring system exists to track progress on implementation of actions plans in order to identify deviations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
    • Compiling reports on unit's activities and progress in terms of action plans. Management and implementation of ICT governance principles and compliance to relevant ICT legislation. Ensuring that monitoring system exist to track progress on implementation of actions plans to address internal IT audits findings. Managing and coordinating the gathering and provision of all the information required by IT external auditors during the external audit period. Ensuring that the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is aligned to the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and that both plans are submitted for approval.
    • Ensuring that service providers are familiar with performance standards by ensuring training is provided in terms of activities and standards. Conduct annual ICT user satisfaction surveys to determine the impact of ICT interventions and service satisfaction. Report survey results to the relative management structures for consideration. Developing annual ICT procurement plans in line with the Service Delivery Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP) and Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
