QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant Tertiary qualification NQF 7 Metallurgical / Chemical  

 SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years’ managerial experience in a heavy industry / ferro-alloy / metallurgical plant
• Smelting knowledge and experience
• Experience in Premus Technology would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in Metallurgical Engineering
• Good knowledge of HSEC&Q systems
• Operational problem solving and decision-making
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• SAP knowledge and experience
• Computer literacy

 JOB OBJECTIVES

In this role you will be responsible to the Works Manager with regards to the management of Premus LCR and SRC sections with the aim to achieve set objectives concerning Production, Costs, Quality, HSEC & HR:

• Be a leader in the production department to ensure growth and development of people
• Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Control
• Effective planning of production activities to ensure optimum utilization of resources
• To ensure production targets are met according to specified standards, policies and procedures
• Long-term strategic planning and managing interaction between Engineering, Operations and Logistical Departments
• Financial management, which includes budget control and capital planning
• Continuous improvement and monitoring with specific focus on 4IR
• Shutdown planning and execution
• Development and support of companies from the local communities
• All other process related managerial and production activities
