Manager (Social Housing) at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Facilitates social housing delivery in the area of our jurisdiction.
• Facilitates linkages with the relevant stakeholders.
• Represents the Council on the Board of Directors for Independent Housing Institutions.
• Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance of Housing Institutions or Section 21 companies.
• Manages risk, budgets, cash flows and resources of projects.
• Responsible for identifying problems or difficulties that housing associations and Council service providers are experiencing.
• Investigates other forms of legal entities and tenure that could be implemented.
• Responsible for policy formulation for housing development in the Unicity area.
• Responds creatively to ad hoc requests that enhance the growth of Social Housing Sector
• Responsible for promoting social housing at Unicity wide level.
• Responsible for facilitating the development of holistic communities.
• Reports to Deputy Head (Formal Housing) on existing and planned projects.
• Responsible for managing subordinates.
• Provides expert advise on technical organisational, legal and financial matters.

Essential Requirements    

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Commercial studies or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 5 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements

• Post graduate degree (NQF Level 8) in Commercial studies or equivalent.
• 6 Years relevant experience.
