    Manager, Solutions Architect

    Job Summary

    The Red Hat Solutions Architecture team is looking for a motivated Manager focused on solutions architecture to join us in Johannesburg, South Africa, supporting the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) territory. In this role, you will be a key member of the Sales and Solutions Architecture Management team and guide a team of technical experts responsible for supporting the Field Sales team. You will cooperate with sales management and the Consulting, Engineering, and Support teams to meet company-outlined sales objectives and assist your team in developing and delivering business-facing messaging on technical subjects. Your travel will mostly consist of trips within the region with occasional overnight trips for training, planning, and sales purposes.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate deep understanding of our portfolio and support our Sales team by translating the capabilities of Red Hat's offerings into value propositions
    • Work with the regional Solutions Architect Management team to support and implement a common strategy for solutions architects in designated verticals
    • Collaborate with sales management on customer engagement strategies and ensure that sales objectives are met
    • Connect with senior management across business functions
    • Manage the Solutions Architecture team to support our Field Sales teams
    • Provide and oversee presales technical support in sales presentations and demonstrations of our offerings
    • Ensure that all solutions architects meet organizational objectives
    • Oversee hiring and career development for a team of solutions architects
    • Work with marketing and product managers to provide feedback on Red Hat's offerings and technologies
       

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of current IT trends and best practices; training and mentoring on Red Hat's solutions will be available to you
    • Ability to develop excellent consultative, written, and verbal communication skills with training and mentoring
    • Experience guiding and coaching customer-facing technical team members in best practices, processes, procedures, and professional growth
    • Ability to work on your own in a fast-growing environment
    • Demonstrated success working in a technical presales role supporting senior sales executives
    • Experience working as a manager of solutions architects
    • Sales-minded with excellent customer business skills
    • Excellent presentation, communication, and documentation skills
    • Extensive technical background; background in the Red Hat portfolio of technologies is a plus
