Manager (Stadia And Amenities) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Responsible for the overall maintenance of grounds and facilities of Moses Mabhida Stadium and five other stadia, management of staff and budgeting.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• In conjunction with the Deputy Head undertakes the formulation of the strategic direction of the Department.
• Initiates and manages special projects.
• Liaises with stakeholders.
• Liaises with sports codes, internal/external Departments, external agencies, other local government organizations, businesses, development forums, clubs, councillors and public.
• Responsible and accountable for the financial control of the Stadia.
• Undertakes the general management of the department.
• Manages the department Human Resource.
• Acts in absence of the Senior Manager Deputy Head Operations and facilities.
• Categorization and grading of Stadia prior to events which includes compliance with the 
• Act 2 of 2010 SASTRA.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Horticulture or Landscape Technology or Turf Management or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• 5 years relevant experience in the green industry of which 2 years must be at a supervisory level.

Preferred Requirements    

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in Horticulture or Landscape Technology or Turf Management or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 6 years relevant experience in the green industry of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level.
