    Manager - Supply

    Manage in Country supply activities including all operations activities, crude oil operations, product import and export operations, marine bunker business operations, exchange planning, replenishment planning, product scheduling and product primary transportation; & operational performance of Astron Energy Southern Africa.

    Responsible for overseeing and managing company's overall supply chain and primary logistics strategy and operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. In addition, they play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and distributors.

    Manages the overall crude-to-customer value chain optimization, including planning and optimizing, supply chain and inventory management, execution of Value Chain Optimization core processes and alignment of manufacturing, supply, trading, transportation & operations, and marketing business objectives. Manages performance reporting, pricing and Business and Capital Planning for the Region. Accountable for Regional Pipeline and the value chain activities required to deliver it cross functionally

    Financial Perspective

    • Manage physical inventory to optimum levels ensuring availability at primary supply locations, and to minimise cash flow impact.
    • Report (and understand) the economic implications / opportunities of the Supply plan
    • Co-ordinate Supply & Logistics variable cost input to the Business plan.
    • Fully comprehend and manage product movement, inventory holdings, and understand price exposure.

    Customer Perspective

    • Act as interface to Transportation & Operations to ensure alignment on business processes to achieve this objective.
    • Liaise with the appropriate authorities with a view to developing insight into future changes in areas which will impact the Supply group.
    • Represent Company at Industry Supply Forums.
    • Work strategically with Tracking Protection Lists, Transnet National Ports Authority & all other external parties to influence Company agenda

    Internal Processes

    • Use Trader/Scheduler Workbench (Lynx tools) there is a drive by the business to the drive for optimum inventory levels.
    • Support Design and implementation of Lynx and Information Technology tools to support effective operation 
    • Manage all Systems, Applications, & Products / Electronic Data Interchange input as required.
    • Identify risk exposure and work with appropriate parties to mitigate.
    • Ensure processes and reporting in place to ensure good governance and policy compliance, including Company policies, Business practises, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc
    • Ensure processes in place and implemented to comply with optimised country Supply Plans

    People Management

    • Lead, manage and develop direct reports to improve Supply Optimization Group performance through human resource systems & engagement
    • Assess competency gaps of direct reports and provide requisite training (internal and external)
    • Consistently drive ‘Astron Energy Values’ through the department
    • Prepare development and succession plans of direct reports and provide growth opportunities
    • Provide a structure for the growth and development of High Potentials and other team members with requisite potential

    Professional Qualification and Certifications: Relevant Degree in Business, Commercial, Trade, Finance, Supply Chain, or Procurement Management

    • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science or Business-related degree
    • Masters’ Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred

    Work Experience:

    • 5-8 years in Leadership role in Supply/ Operations/ Trading
    • Petrochemical Supply, scheduling, trading & optimisation experience is essential
    • Prior work experience in supply operations and related fields an advantage

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Familiarity with refining processes, infrastructure, C2C supply chain process and value chain, petroleum products, qualities and understanding of feedstock and product qualities
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills/ able to effectively engage at all levels of the organization and 3rd Party partners across diverse cultures and partnerships
    • Strong critical thinking & analytical skills
    • Strong computer skills, proficiency in the use of Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Outlook is desired
