What you’ll have done before:

Baseline:

• NQF Level 7 (Degree in Engineering/ Science/ Finance)
• 10 years’ experience managing the Environmental function, with 5 years from the Energy and Climate Change field.
• Experience in Sustainability or Sustainability Development reporting
• 5 years’ experience Managing Managers and exerting influence to Senior Management
• Knowledge of HSEQ Systems
• Knowledge of HSEQ Acts and Policies & Procedures

Advantageous: 

• Marketing degree

What you’ll be doing

• Identify relevant sustainability goals, and then develop and implement an appropriate corporate sustainability strategy
• Identify & verify key materiality, including key policies and procedures to ensure adequate response to issues by stakeholders, employees, regulators, business partners, investors, and communities
• Identify risks related to sustainability and assess the potential impacts of these risks on business operations including our customers.
• Communicate Engen’s sustainability successes and failures to stakeholders, including but not limited to employees, investors, business partners, and regulators, through sustainability reports & other means
• Identifying gaps and determining appropriate educational initiatives to address them, such as addressing social factors via upskilling current staff or sourcing new talent
• Explore and promote openness towards the external innovation ecosystem by utilizing ESG-oriented technologies, solutions, and practices to unlock enhanced value
• Forecast the annual budget requirements and manage the departments CAPEX and OPEX plan to meet the target plan.
