Job Specific Experience

• Minimum experience of 5 years in construction safety
• Advantage of experience in the paper and pulp industry
• Minimum 3 – 5 year leadership experience

Qualifications & Expertise

• SACPCMP – Pr. CHSA (Advantageous)
• National Diploma – Safety Management
• BSc Engineering or BTech Engineering (advantageous)

Functional Outputs

• Ensure capital investments comply to the Occupational Health and Safety act and Group practice notes
• Mondi Mill Road Map implementation (Injury frequency rates, Close out of safety actions, ensure implementation of Mill Top Risks, meet Group requirements)
• Develop and manage the audit plan to ensure compliance to all relevant SD performance requirements and Group practice Notes are audited.
• Management of the safety element of mill shut down’s (Planned and unplanned)
• Manage, lead and inspire team to high performance
• Coordination and implementation of Group safety projects

General

• Computer literacy (including SAP system) is essential
• Builds and leads an inspired and engaged high performing team that consistently produces results
• Actively keeps abreast of new developments and information in the health and safety environment
• Actively promotes the development of people in the section as a primary resource
