Job Description:
Kumba Iron Ore has the ambition to achieve benchmark performance in the fields of safety and productivity across its value chain by 2023. The rapid implementation of relevant, best in class technology is seen as a key enabler in this journey as some of your responsibilities will include:
Develop a recommended KIO mining industry strategy with roadmap (taking into consideration the Anglo American technology trademark), identifying key technical themes and programs which may be of value to KIO.
Evaluate and make recommendation of relevant technology programs for KIO to take forward.
Implement approved project portfolio.
Develop practical and appropriate change management processes for use during project implementation.
Support and monitor the execution of the technology roadmap
Support the development and approval of business cases and budgets
Contribute input into Anglo American technology initiatives and strategy.
Develop and maintain a network of key technology partners, stakeholders (including AA and DMR) and service providers so as to keep abreast of developments which might have potential benefit for KIO.
Provide technology input and support for projects.
This role is in the Technology department at a Band 5 level.
Qualifications:
Degree in Metallurgical/Mining/Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering
Post Graduate qualification in Metallurgical / Mining / Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering
Projects qualification would be advantageous
Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light vehicle)
Experience:
Operational experience in mining operations and some experience in technology development and implementation.
