    Specific Outputs

    • Managed and controlled product quality assurance
    • Forecasted product demand
    • Maintained operations services levels and optimised plant, machinery and equipment
    • Optimised manufacturing, warehousing & distribution of core products
    • Approved and managed working capital budgets and projects and managed team


    Required Experience 

    • 5 years manufacturing experience
    • 2 years managerial experience


    Qualifications

    4 year Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing Management

    Primary Objectives of the Position

    • The ideal candidate will have a 4 year Engineering or Manufacturing Management tertiary qualification with at least 5 years manufacturing experience, 2 of which should be at a managerial level preferably within the Food Processing environment.
    • They will be responsible for the co-ordination of activities across a production facility in it's entirety in order to meet the required profit, quality and service standards.
    • A key component of the role is delivering to forecast by balancing raw material supply versus production requirements through the efficient use of manpower, equipment and materials.
    • An ability to analyse and report on data is essential as is the need for strong people management skills in a Unionised environment, as they will have direct reports and be full accountability for all plant activity i.e. production, engineering, quality control and stores.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills will be a critical in ensuring success in this role.
    • Experience in plant optimisation and continuous improvement will be advantageous.
    • The role requires an individual who is self-motivated and able to deliver autonomously. Previous experience within Food manufacturing, particularly cereals and the management of a co-packing arrangements will be advantageous.
    • This role is based in Epping, Western Cape, shift work is not required and business travel requirements are minimal and constitute approx 5% of the role.
