Marketing Intern (4-month contract) at VUKA Group

As our Marketing Intern, you will be an essential member of our marketing team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and creative individual who is eager to launch a career in marketing across various platforms. You will collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure the successful implementation of the marketing plan and the achievement of event goals. Your responsibilities will encompass tasks such as creating promotional content, monitoring social media platforms, conducting market research, and providing support in all marketing department activities while also additional ad hoc work that the department might require.

To thrive in this role, you should possess outstanding people & communication skills, along with exceptional multitasking and organizational abilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of marketing techniques, social media platforms, and a genuine passion for events and customer experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field (please note this is a full-time contract role)
• Already residing in Cape Town
• Successful completion of introductory courses in marketing, business, or equivalent
• Applied understanding of basic marketing principles
• Familiarity with major social media platforms (Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organised and administratively minded
• Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
• Understanding of SEO techniques and best practices
• Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills
• A team player with a creative flair to contribute to a fast-paced, high-performing team.
• Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
• Previous experience using Canva or other design tools for creative asset or video creation a plus.
• Be hands on and innovative while driving onsite marketing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Support marketing campaign planning and execution
• Creative asset briefs for marketing campaigns
• Marketing deliverables for partnerships
• Write copy for social media posts, promotional emails, and other marketing collateral.
• Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels.
• Participate in marketing brainstorming sessions.
• Assist in the management of website SEO.
• Take part in formal and informal training opportunities
• Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives
