    Master Data and Analytics Specialist

    The Master Data and Analytics Specialist will own the End-to-End Master Data processes across the organization, Product Lifecycle Management and Data Analytics with the intention to improve customer service levels. The role will be responsible for entering, monitoring, and analyzing Master Data in our key systems (SAP, BPCS, Tableau) and ensure data integrity and quality. Moreover, the Specialist will be the gatekeeper of the product lifecycle and oversee the discontinuation process. The successful applicant will play a vital role in optimizing our planning, inventory, and order management processes. The Specialist will analyze customer, demand, and supply data, and develop systems to optimize customer service levels.

    The Master Data and Analytics specialist will have primary responsibility of South and Sub-Saharan Africa markets, however, will be part of the functional team for Africa Middle East Turkey (AMET). Hence, the successful applicant will be onboarded on business processes for AMET, support when required in other markets and regional projects.

    The main duties and responsibilities of the position are:

    • On-time creation and extension of product codes in SAP and BPCS for finished goods and co-packed materials
    • Follow up local and regional workflow for code creation and extension with all stakeholders
    • Manage customer Master Data and requirements e.g., customer specific exclusions, product data sheets, order and truck build tools
    • Work closely with our 3PL to ensure data consistency with external partners
    • Timely reaction to correct data, to ensure systems operate correctly
    • Ensure quality of Master Data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
    • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
    • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
    • Manage, analyze, and resolve data initiative issues and manage revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.
    • Assist in data management, governance, and data quality of Master requirements with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across the operation of financial systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements.
    • Define, design, and build dimensional databases to meet business needs.
    • Assist in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
    • Conduct data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused data, or duplicate data for better management and quicker access.
    • Provide data consulting in support of business and information technology initiatives to customers to improve their database systems.
    • As GS1 subject matter expert, provide guidance to the business on the interpretation and implementation of business data standards and GS1 rules e.g. version or root code change or soft/hard switch. Drive GS1 governance and adherence.
    • Manage listings with customers via external agency.
    • Provide single point of contact to local business regarding data quality and accuracy and conduct review of measures to address data errors and any discrepancies.
    • Owns the End-to-End discontinuation process across the business. Manage and execute the code life cycle of finished and co-packed goods and packaging materials, from creation and modification to deactivation. Ensure discontinuation process per SOP for whole operations and commercial business.
    • Support product rationalization activities through Product Optimization Models (POM), portfolio analysis and inclusion of financial parameters
    • Daily analysis of stock on hand, incoming stock, and orders to ensure all codes and versions are active in material determination and have correct status assigned.
    • Develop weekly process together with customer service to check data integrity and ensure order allocation
    • Proactive analysis of potential service level challenges and mitigation thereof
    • Analytics of supply parameters including source, safety stock, manufacturing lead times, in transit versus actual data. Report deviations and align with regional teams on necessary corrections.
    • Report and reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory (SLOB). Closely follow up with commercial team on SLOB liquidation actions.
    • Create processes and methods to gather supply chain data.
    • Recommend improvement to boost performance in supply and order management. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and new systems.
    • Analyze data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvement.
    • Support new product introductions and product relaunches.
    • Support projects in Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution and Finance.
    • Create knowledge transfer and best practice sharing of Master Data and Analytics across AMET

    Qualifications
    We’d love to hear from YOU, if you have:

    • Master (preferred) or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, Business Economics, Operations, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain area; Master Data experience preferred
    • Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting
    • Analytical mind with business acumen
    • Ability to evaluate large amounts of information leading to sound conclusions for effective decision making
    • Problem-solving aptitude
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong sense of accountability and urgency
    • Customer first mindset
    • Great communication skills: ability to communicate concisely across the different levels of the organization.
    • Experience in statistical software / forecasting ideal
    • Outstanding Excel skills
    • Excellent organizational ability
    • Experience in SAP, APO, SNP, and Tableau necessary
    • Strong learning agility
    • A positive minded team player and change agent
    • Continuous improvement mindset
    • A dynamic and self-driven personality, willing to go the extra mile even in periods of high workload.
    • Ability to prioritize within a complex and dynamic business environment.
    • APICS certification preferred
    • Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical and/or retail
    • Fluent level of written and spoken English
