    Materials Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Material Planning, Ordering & Inventory Control: Ensure effective ordering, availability, and control of consumables and direct materials through accurate material planning, correct ordering methods (Kanban, reorder point, MRP, manual), maintenance of min–max, safety stock and replenishment parameters in SAP, generation and management of requisitions, purchase orders and call‑offs, supplier performance tracking and escalation, collaboration with Procurement on risks and long‑lead items, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support production with zero stockouts while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
    • System Accuracy, Storekeeping & Traceability: Maintain transactional accuracy and SAP/MES alignment by overseeing goods receipts (101), material issues (261/262), transfer postings (311/321) and other movement types; controlling storekeeping areas for segregated materials, consumables and critical spares; validating material master data; monitoring consumption trends and abnormalities; ensuring alignment between shopfloor usage, MES confirmations and SAP postings; correcting BOM consumption variances, backflush errors and routing quantities; and ensuring batch, heat number traceability and compliant digital audit records.
    • Production Support, Cross‑Functional Coordination & NPI: Support stable production by ensuring all required materials are available before shift start, participating in daily production meetings with material readiness updates, coordinating with Production, Lab, Tooling and Maintenance to forecast material needs, supporting new product introduction by sourcing development materials, and maintaining continuous communication to enable smooth material flow and uninterrupted operations.
    • Continuous Improvement, Stocktakes & Compliance Discipline: Drive continuous improvement in material flow, storage and system processes by identifying inefficiencies, leading initiatives on inventory reduction, scrap and waste reduction, improved ordering discipline and automated replenishment signals, conducting root‑cause analysis for recurring shortages or variances, supporting 5S and layout improvements, and executing disciplined stocktakes through full posting cut‑offs, accurate BOM/routing/WIP data, well‑prepared count sheets, controlled physical counts, immediate variance reconciliation, corrective actions, and strengthened master data and stock control processes.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • SAP Production Planning (PP)/Material Management (MM) experience, Advanced Excel proficiency.
    • Knowledgeable in SAP and MES systems.
    • 4-6 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment & materials control.
