Job Description

• Our client is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Consulting Engineer to join its Cape Town office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career mechanical engineer looking to build a career within the building services consulting industry, working on a diverse range of commercial, healthcare, retail, hospitality, and public infrastructure projects.
• The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, assisting with the design, specification, project management, and delivery of mechanical building services systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of mechanical building services systems.
• Design HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems.
• Assist with the design of Fire Protection and Wet Services systems.
• Conduct mechanical services audits and site assessments.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and reports.
• Assist with cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
• Support project management throughout all project phases.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African standards and project specifications.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng Mechanical Engineering
• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• BTech Mechanical Engineering
• 0–3 years' experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
• Strong interest in Building Services Engineering.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
