Metallurgical Plant Fitter at Gold One Group Limited

Job specification: 

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualifications
• N2 Trade Theory
• Trade test from a recognized institution, preferably Section 13.
• Must be computer literate with emphasis on Excel.
• Independent judgement, initiative and interpersonal communication skills are required and essential.
• Knowledge and proven understanding of plant production and plant operations required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and perform standby duties.
• 5 - 7 years’ post qualification experience in metallurgical gold plant, trackless mining or industrialized environment.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of metallurgical gold plant workshop standard procedures, functions, and systems including but not limited to plant maintenance, crushers, pumps, motors and any other mechanical equipment within the gold plant.
• Demonstrate integrity and above average interpersonal skills and abilities.
• South African Driver’s license (Code 08-10) essential
• South African Citizenship.
• Clear Criminal Record.

Responsibilities: 

• Work a cycle of shifts.
• Functional support, quality control and best practices within metallurgical plant
• Implement and improve effective preventative maintenance programs / or systems in order to optimise production of the gold plant.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose and efficiently perform trade related maintenance and repairs on all plant mechanical equipment, belts, and other structural components.
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with personnel to ensure productivity of personnel.
• Specialized knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems.
• Assign corrective measures and follow-up on outstanding / overdue actions.
• Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Practice and adhere to metallurgical plant policies and procedures.
