    Micro-store Coordinator

    Job Description    
    RCL Foods Chicken Animal Feed division currently has an exciting role for a passionate, organized, responsible and meticulous individual to fill the vacancy of Micro-store Coordinator. The purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth running of the vitamin and minerals department, stock control and administration related to the department.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • 6 Month Tertiary Certificate, preferably in Business Fundamentals
    • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Computer Literate
    • Experience in supervising a team
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Contributes to Functional Strategy into Action
    • Encourages and facilitates and action SIA initiatives within the Micro Store team.

    Operations Management

    • Drives Micro Store productivity through agreed KPI’s and efficiencies.
    • Reports on a daily basis on actual Operations KPI’s versus budget and works with Micro Store team to address the areas of non-conformance or concern proactively and timeously.
    • Co-ordinates production program with other functional areas to ensure optimal production.
    • Ensure Micro Store team accurately and in the agreed time frame, record all relevant production information.
    • Ensures that all the positions are manned according to the skills and knowledge required for operating or performing the described work effectively.
    • Supports the drive of Business Unit appearance and image through monitoring and attaining housekeeping standards.
    • Reduces production downtime by ensuring micro bins remain full at all times.
    • Ensures that prescription medicine is available on request from production within specified time frame.
    • Checking prescription items and following up with veterinary/sales office or technical advisor.
    • Manages the micro ingredients on the Agrigrain system by ensuring contracts and corresponding purchase orders are created and processed.
    • Liaises with suppliers to ensure timely cost effective delivery and supply of micro ingredients.
    • Ensures all ‘hand additions’ are included correctly and the corresponding information is recorded accurately.

    Management of Safety, Health Environment, Risk and Quality

    • Ensures that all legislative and industry standards are followed on a Shift and that all areas of non-conformance are reported.
    • Ensures adherence to ISO 9000/22 000/14 000/18000 standards within the Total Integrated Management System on a Shift.
    • Ensures ISO in-process quality control processes are followed.
    • Monitors and ensures that quality tests done and are within the specified limits and safe for animal consumption.

    Stock Control

    • Counts all micro ingredients on site on a daily basis.
    • Ensures that stock variances between actual and theoretical usage must not exceed 2%. Any variances are reported to the Raw Material Planner.
    • Ensures that locks on all units are locked at all times and the lock register is maintained.
    • Ensure that medication store is locked at all times. (Ensures that script store is locked when un-attended)
    • Documents all goods received in the GRN book.
    • Takes retention samples of all micro ingredients received and stores the samples in the archive. All samples must be correctly labelled and stored for a period of 3 months. Note the deviation of stock received and actual counts and report back to supplier.

    Provides Leadership

    • Leads Micro Store staff towards meeting targets – through regular communication and on-the-job training.
    • Conducts Indaba meetings and ensures that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon.
    • Manages employee relations climate and ensure corrective action is taken where required in line with relevant legislation and company policy.
