    Mine Geological Systems Supervisor

     

    Job Description

    The focus for this role will be to:

    • Electronical updating of the current and forecasted positions of Geological structures and Geological zones and Generate the evaluation batches required by CADS mine to report accurate reserve information when required by the Shaft Geologist/Geology Manager, .
    • Ensure that mine geological plans are up to date and correct for planning.
    • Update mine geological systems on a monthly basis and all other relevant information in Microstation, as required by the Shaft Geologist/Geology Manager (e.g. geological structure, etc.)
    • Supply relevant plans and portions of plans and, Prepare and produce Business Objects reports as agreed by the Shaft Geologist.
    • Adhere to departmental processes, standards and procedures pertaining to Geology Draughting and all mine and or legal requirements in respect of storage of printed plans and information.
    • Report on all deviations from approved plans and all budget control relevant to mine geological systems output requirements.

    This role is in the Geosciences department at a D1 level reporting to the Shaft Geologist.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Certificate in Mine Survey and Draughting Chamber of Mines (COM) is required.
    • Relevant Arc GIS and AutoCAD courses is advantageous
    • Must be proficient in DataMine, attended Introduction and Advanced courses
    • Must have completed Microstation V8 Essential
    • Proficient in PowerPoint / Word/ Excel.

    Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required

    • At least 5 years work experience in a Geology environment, of which 3 years must be on a narrow tabular ore body.
    • Suitable legal knowledge for Draughting, Mine Design and Schedule work (DME, Survey, Production and DME plan specifications).
    • Valid driving license code 08.
    • Ms Office PowerPoint / Word/ Excel
    • If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Certification.
