Mine Overseer - Northam Development at Redpath Mining

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric certificate/ equivalent
• Blasting Certificate
• Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency
• MS Office Proficiency
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable own vehicle
• Medically Fit

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• 5 years’ experience as Mine Overseer (hard rock)
• Proven track record of meeting and or improving monthly production and safety targets
• Inclined and horizontal development ends
• Sound knowledge of conventional and trackless development
• Knowledge of hydropower (aqua jet)
• Have knowledge and understanding of Contract management

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and submit daily production & financial reports to GM
• Proper planning to ensure optimization of resources to maximize safe production output
• Ensure the standardization, accuracy, and authenticity of information
• Closely monitor the production performance as per the targets
• Identify production shortfalls and put recovery plans in place
• Controlling costs
• Perform regular underground visits to monitor the conditions and provide expert opinion
• Conduct monthly production planning meetings to set realistic targets and focus areas
• Carry out excellent Legal knowledge for underground mining
• Ensure introduction of safety and health initiatives which conform to company objectives
• Ensure healthy client relationship
• Ensure compliance with HR policies & procedures
• To lead a team of decline development crews
• Organize materials and stores
• Labour control
