Mine Surveyor - Delmas at Exxaro Resources

PURPOSE:

• To ensure and implement Business Unit specific operational survey requirements with regards to volumetric, directional guidance, mine layouts and statutory mine plans in terms of Mine Health and Safety Act.

Minimum Requirements    
QUALIFICATIONS:

• NH Dip: Mine Surveying (Essential/Minimum or)
• Advanced Mine Survey Certificate COM (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate Mine Valuation COM (Recommended/Desirable)
• B Tech Mineral Resource Management (Recommended/Desirable)
• Certificate First Line Management (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE: 

•  3-5 years Relevant operational Mine Surveying experience      (Essential/Minimum)    Operational

• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• CoM Cert Basic Sampling (Essential/Minimum)
• CoM Cert Elementary Survey (Essential/Minimum)
• CoM Cert Basic Surveying (Essential/Minimum)
• CoM Cert Elementary Mine Survey (Essential/Minimum)
• Pub Driv Lic:Code B (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities    
Compliance, Governance and Assurance    
Ensure all surveying related services are delivered in accordance with policies, systems and procedures that are legally compliant and adhere to sound corporate governance principles

• Monitor risk

Effective People Management    

• Promote teamwork and provide support and manage performance
• Mentor coach and develop subordinates

Mine Survey Support    

• Month-end survey measurements and volume calculations for tonnage reconciliations
• Underground and/or surface survey control pegs
• Provide directional and gradient control for mining purposes
• Issue mining instructions and holing notices where applicable
• Prepare mining layouts
• Render a professional internal customer service to the mining and Mineral Resources Management (MRM) sections
• Provide technical support to the MRM section and project teams
• Support with the communication of the impact of risks relating to business strategy
• Apply industry accepted survey standards at business units
• Safe and Healthy Work Environment    
• Maintain a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
• Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
• Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
