Motion Graphic Designer at WeBuyCars

Job Purpose:

• To create engaging motion graphics and animated content across organic social media and campaign/sponsorship video content, bringing the WeBuyCars brand to life through motion. The role is focused primarily on motion design and animation, with light video editing support where needed, working within WeBuyCars brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Social & Paid Media Motion Design

• Design and animate motion graphics content for organic social media (animated posts, short-form video, Reels/TikTok-style content).
• Design and animate motion graphics for paid social and Google Ads campaigns, ensuring content meets platform specifications and objectives.
• Adapt static designs and campaign assets into animated formats for both organic and paid social platforms.
• Ensure all organic and paid motion content aligns with WeBuyCars brand guidelines and tone of voice.

Campaign & Sponsorship Motion Design

• Create motion graphics and animated content supporting sponsorship activations and campaign videos.
• Design title sequences, lower thirds, animated logos, and other motion elements for campaign and sponsorship video content.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand briefs and deliver motion content that meets campaign objectives and timelines.

Video Editing Support

• Provide light video editing support where required, including trimming, sequencing, and basic colour and sound adjustments.
• Assist with preparing final video exports in the correct formats and specifications for each platform.

Production & File Management

• Prepare and export final motion/video assets in the correct file formats, resolutions, and specifications for both digital and broadcast use.
• Organise and maintain the motion/video asset library for easy access and version control.
• Assist with revisions and adapting existing motion content for different formats and platforms.

General

• General administrative duties associated with the role.
• Keep up to date with motion design trends, tools, and techniques relevant to the role, and proactively suggest improvements to motion design processes and workflow.

Role Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• A diploma or degree in Motion Design, Animation, Film/Video Production, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• 3–4 years' experience in motion graphics/animation.
• A strong showreel/portfolio demonstrating motion design work is essential.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for preparing source graphics.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and pacing.
• Ability to adapt designs across formats (square, vertical, horizontal) for different platforms.
• Strong eye for typography, layout, and colour within motion.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines at once.
• Attention to detail and consistency with brand guidelines.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A proactive, creative, and team-oriented attitude.

Advantageous

• Experience with Cinema 4D or other 3D tools.
• Experience using AI models/tools (e.g., for ideation, asset generation, or workflow efficiency).
• Experience in the automotive or retail industry
