Job Description:
Your day-to-day duties will include:

Effective control of shaft systems including underground & surface conveying systems:

• Attend and conduct Safety meeting and participate in Risk assessments.
• Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required.
• Exercise judgment with regards to replacement of components.
• Plan sequence execution of work.
• Report possible defects and plan the action needed to rectify the risk or defect.
• Make informed technical decisions.
• Stop the operation if the working conditions are unsafe.
• Record results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format.
• Complete job cards and description of work and spares used (PM’s).
• Perform work to the required standards and specifications.
• Apply appropriate tools to complete tasks.
• This role is in the Engineering Department at a C2 level reporting to the Mechanical Foreman.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or Technical Trade Specific N3
• Diesel Mechanic/ Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Basic Computer Literacy
• Code 8 driver’s license

To be successful, you will have the following experience:

• At least 2 to 3 years’ experience as an artisan in the relevant industry
